Known for her bangin' sets, divaDanielle tears up the decks with electro, techno and house. After catching a record that Darren Emerson threw into the crowd in 2002, divaD was inspired to get off the dance floor and get behind the decks. Since then she's played everything from undergrounds to clubs to festivals, filling the party with her brand of booty electro and chunky, sexy techno. divaDanielle was part of LA's infamous Hipgenesis crew. Now she can be found filling up dance floors with Sapient Mongrel as well as The Girls of Shade.

Her life as a DJ began one fateful evening 5 years ago at The Ivar in Hollywood. Darren Emerson (of Underworld fame) spun with Tim Deluxe at the grand opening of the club Stereo, hosted by KCRW’s Jason Bentley. In the middle of his set, Mr. Emerson tossed a record into the crowd, Grant Nelson “Free & Switch,” which will go down in history as the first dance music album Danielle ever owned.
A film and video editor by day, DJ by night, Danielle started organizing clubs around town in 2004. She and a group of girls eager to spin created Girls Spun Wild (GSW), featuring female DJs from all genres. Over the years, they brought their act to Vine Bar, Fais Do Do, Nocturnal and The Moutain Bar. In 2007, GSW appeared in the LA Times as part of their feature on the rise of female DJs in LA.

For the last 5 years, she has spun at her favorite place in the universe, Black Rock City, Nevada a.k.a. Burning Man. She has also performed at LA and NYC's Burning Man Decompression Street Fairs (or DECOM for short). Other bookings include Spundae, The Mor Bar, The Standard, Plump, The King King, Zanzibar, The Medusa Lounge and Cre8tivity, playing with the likes of John Kelley, Kazell, Charles Feelgood, Jason Bentley and King Britt. Residencies have included The Mountain Bar, Vine Bar, Moonshadows and Circus. She can also be found filling dance floors in San Francisco, Seattle, Miami and Mexico.

In 2007, divaDanielle won DJ Nic Alvarado's DJ Mix Contest for the month of June, competing against DJs from all over the world, for her Spoiled Kitty Mix. This same mix was also featured on Spineshaker.com as their "Friday Martini Mix" winner. Spineshaker commented,

"We fell head over heals for her smooth glitchy sound."

"We adore her style of mixing, and the fact she frequents Burning Man. DJ divaDanielle wins this weeks' Friday's Martini Mix, but should really win every week! Next time your party crashes, call Danielle for Tech Support!" She has also been a guest DJ on the internet radio shows Disciples of House and The Beat House, here in LA, and on The Shejay Sessions in the UK.

In 2008, Porter Tinsley and divaDanielle created Shade - a day party, a free event at Woodley Park and Zuma Beach, running Spring and Summer. The event quickly became an LA fav, getting such reviews as
"It’s one of those things that reminds out-of-towners why they moved to LA, and reminds locals why they love it here (and for me, why I ever got into event-blogging in the first place.) It’s a secret too good to keep." -BoredLA

This year, divaD joined Sapient Mongrel as one of their resident DJs. Sapient Mongrel fuses the artistic talents, abundant in the Los Angeles underground, in new and unconventional ways, promoting the collaboration between musical, visual, and performance artists for the purpose of entertainment, inspiration, and creative expression. Simply put, they throw kick-ass events!

divaD's deep love for the music she plays shines through in Danielle’s performances. A friend once told her, “You remind me of a little girl singing in front of her mirror when you DJ!” Her energy is a highlight in her sets. She sings along, wears costumes and dances, all the while keeping the crowd bumping with her funky song selections. "Diva Danielle steps up to the plate and hits a home run at first swing...She interacts with the crowd a lot, and you can tell she is enjoying it as much as the dancers. With hands in the air, she signals another flawless mix," LA nightlife event blogger, Disko Duck, remarked after a performance at The Medusa Lounge in Hollywood.

“I sing and dance at home when I’m playing. I sing and dance when I’m on stage. I can’t help it. It just comes out of me,” Danielle remarks of her on-stage antics.

“They don’t call me The Diva for nothing!”
